Hey Marianne, thanks for visiting our site. Ads are crucial to keeping the site free for users. If you’d rather pay for book recommendations (and avoid the ads), you can email us at hello@readingmiddlegrade.com for personalized recommendations. And we show one ad for every 2-3 books you see, which is reasonable for our other readers.

I’m trying to find great books for a 12 year old girl. Way too many ads – I think on average 4 to 8 ads per book. I managed to get to the 3rd book when I gave up. Are this many ads necessary?

I have an 11-year-old nephew who has seizures where he freezes and stares into space he had them because he had scarlet fever as a baby. His young parents just moved to Nevada last year in a very fancy house and he has a little brother who’s I think nine years old I don’t know because I moved out of state and six years ago and has been a very bad aunt. Anyway, I went back home to visit and they came to visit as well. We stayed at my mom‘s house their grandma’s. That nephew is very very close with his grandma, my mom, but he’s super worried that he’s 11 years old and his mom is pregnant with the baby right now. He’s so sad that he’s going to be grown-up with his little brother is growing up. I was wondering if you have any books that you would recommend for him or his little brother who is I believe nine but he could be eight.
